Why Choose Relax All Day, Cherrie Martineau, CMT?
Relax All Day Owner, Cherrie Martineau is a Master in creating a Transformative Relaxation Experience just for you! Her level of expertise and care will leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. She has worked at some of the finest Resort Spas in California, including the beautiful Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA and currently at The Omni Resort La Costa in Carlsbad, CA. Cherrie believes in giving exceptional quality massage along with energy healing work and delivers excellence through her synergistic blend of techniques so that you may enjoy the ultimate relaxation experience exclusively in her private office in Malibu. Relax All Day is a small boutique business that looks forward to creating a rewarding experience for its clients. Clients can schedule energy healing work with or without integrative bodywork, depending on their individual needs. Appointments range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and are designed for focused work or pure relaxation. If you are a first time client or have never received a professional massage, Cherrie recommends a 60 minute full body massage that will focus on relaxation and sensory awareness using primarily Swedish techniques. For clients with an acute or chronic issue, a 30 or 45 minute targeted therapeutic session may be beneficial. For transformational bodywork, Cherrie recommends 90 minutes to 2 hours to receive the maximum benefits. This type of bodywork combines mind, body and spirit and gives the body time to integrate the work being done in the session. With the exception of pregnancy massage and some energy healing treatments, Cherrie uses her signature scent, Enchanted Rose, from her Haimalatta's Botanicals® bodycare line. Rose essential oil has a beautiful, sweet floral scent that brings balance and harmony to the body with stimulating and uplifting properties to create a sense of well-being and self-confidence. When Cherrie is not working, she takes time to meditate, do yoga, relax and learn and grow in her profession through continuing education. These activities allow for her creativity to flow freely and for new inspirations to come forth to enhance her massage practice. Cherrie believes these key components are the foundation for creating a positive massage experience for her clients and what sets her apart from the others. Any licensed therapist can give a massage, but Cherrie Martineau creates the ultimate relaxation experience to balance your mind, body and spirit!
What time should I arrive for my appointment and what is your office address?
For office visits, please arrive 5 minutes before your appointed massage time to allow for consultation and filling out paperwork as well as time to settle and relax before your session.
For outcalls, please also allow extra time before and after your session. I arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to set up and need 15 minutes after your massage to clean up.
Why do I have to fill out paperwork?
It is important to have a detailed current health questionnaire during the intake process since some conditions are contraindicated for massage and may require a written medical clearance from your physician. Also, my policies and procedures are included for your understanding so that your experience is a relaxing and enjoyable one. If you prefer to fill out forms ahead of time, go to the "Services" tab and fill out both client intake and intended outcome forms and bring them with you or email them to me prior to your session.
Will I be covered during the massage?
Yes, you will be properly draped at all times to keep you warm and comfortable. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.
Should I wear undergarments?
This is a personal decision based on your level of comfort. Most clients choose to be completely free of clothing and others may leave undergarments on. No matter what you choose, you will be properly draped during the entire session. If you are having energy healing work or a session which is based more on stretching, then please wear loose fitting and comfortable clothing.
What should I do after the massage?
Drink plenty of water and remember to relax and take it easy if possible. You may feel drowsy or sleepy after your session, so resting after is a wonderful way to enhance your massage. If your body is very tense or stressed when you come in, or you do not have regular massage, the release of waste products stored in your muscular tissues could cause headaches or muscle soreness. Remember, massage is a mini workout for your body, which brings benefit following any initial soreness. Soaking in bath salts such as Himalayan, Dead Sea or Epsom salts are also a great way to enhance your massage. Soak for 15-20 minutes in a warm tub.
Do you offer "Special Services"?
No. My massage is strictly professional (non-sexual) massage therapy and I do not provide "other special services". If during the course of the massage you are looking for sexual services or erotic massage, the session will be terminated and payment will be due for the entire session booked.
When should I refrain from massage?
- One hour before or after a meal
- First trimester of pregnancy
- Seriously ill, or intoxicated
- If you have a contagious skin disease
- If you have a cold or fever
Are same day appointments available?
Same day appointments are not available due to locations and scheduled clients.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your private appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. All appointments are prepaid and require 24 hours advance notice by phone for any cancellations. Appointments are automatically cancelled 15 minutes after scheduled start time and will not be refunded. Clients who fail to show up for their scheduled appointments will not be scheduled for future appointments. If you are scheduling at the spa, please be advised of their separate policies for cancellation and late arrival.
What is your late arrival policy?
If you arrive late, you will only receive the amount remaining of your scheduled appointment including the time needed to fill out paperwork so that the next client is not inconvenienced. If this is your first visit to any location, please allow extra time for traffic and parking.
May I leave a gratuity?
Gratuities are a token of appreciation and graciously accepted, so thank you! You may choose to add to your service before arrival or separately after your service. Please remember, the highest compliment is referrals to my business, so feel free to let others know about my work and your experience!
Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Paypal are accepted and will be charged the day you schedule your appointment. Spa appointments are paid directly at the Spa.
